FAQ’s
How do I integrate my software or service into the Vendasta Marketplace?
To integrate into the Vendasta Marketplace ecosystem, a Vendor must first become a channel partner and subscribe to one of the Vendor subscriptions. Once that is in place, if you want your Product distributed in the Vendasta Marketplace, then there are a set of integrations that all distributed products must implement:
1) Order Acceptance
2) Single Sign On (SSO)
2.1) Unified Navigation and Interface
3) Reporting & Proof of Performance
4) Communication
5) CRM syncing
Not all requirements may be applicable, for example your product may not have a CRM component, in which case requirement 5 would be N/A. However, if any components above exist in your offering they will apply. Requirements will be confirmed on your discovery call with the Vendor Team. Is there API support for vendors?
Yes, there is API support for vendor integration into the Marketplace. The Vendasta APIs are built for serving server-to-server interactions. Your web application retrieves an authorization token (referred to in this documentation as an OAuth Token or Bearer Token) on behalf of one of your marketplace applications, so user credentials from your end are not directly involved. This scenario is known as “two-legged OAuth”; user consent is not directly required by your application, but is implied by a user having your application added to their account. Interaction with Vendasta Accounts, Users, and the Marketplace API can only occur once the Vendasta User has added your application to their account.
How do I track my sales?
There is a simple revenue share based on the wholesale price of your products. Options are available for Vendor transaction fees to be rendered by percentage of the wholesale price, or based on a reseller model, where Vendasta is considered a reseller of the Vendor product. Vendasta manages billing of Channel Partners for product activations, and dispenses payment to Vendor monthly.
