Others list 50 or even 100+ <a href=\"\/blog\/top-100-online-business-directories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">business directory<\/a> websites you can choose from.<\/p>\n<p>Your next step is picking the best websites to list your clients on based on your location, goals, and industry. To figure this out, you may want to read a few different articles from different sources.<\/p>\n<p>For this step, it\u2019s likely a good idea to stay away from articles that list their top 10 picks. These are usually lists of \u201cthe big\u201d directories, like Google Business, Yelp, and Facebook. You likely knew about those sites and were going to list on them anyway. As result, those &#8220;top-10&#8221; style articles aren&#8217;t as helpful as others may be.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, it\u2019s better to look at some of the more comprehensive business directory lists. Yes, 100 or even 500 different sites can be a lot to sort through. This is where comparing several articles can be helpful. Some of those websites are going to be mentioned in many articles.<\/p>\n<p>If you see a website on each list, then you might want to do some more research.<\/p>\n<h2>Are there some sites not worth listing on?<\/h2>\n<p>When it comes to<a href=\"\/local-listings\/local-seo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> local citation building<\/a>, it\u2019s often the more the merrier. With hundreds of online directories out there, you might wonder if you need to list your clients on all of them.<\/p>\n<p>It usually doesn\u2019t hurt to add another listing. As noted, more citations mean more data points for search engines.<\/p>\n<p>That said, not every online directory is one you need to list on. For the most part, though, online directories are worth it.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to pare down the list of citations because you\u2019re concerned about management, it&#8217;s time to find new tech tools.
